When the communes of Ølen and Vindafjord
are combined in 2006, the new commune will bear
the name of Vindafjord and the administrative centre
will be the town of Ølen, creating, in terms
of area, the largest municipality in the Haugalandet
region.
In an environment surrounded by mountains and
fjords, it is an ideal location in which to grow
up. The comprehensive commercial life of the commune
provides a robust job market, while the natural
beauty and lively villages make the area an eldorado
for tourists.
